Author John W. Wysner's Struggles with Manic Depression are Explored through the Art of Poetry in Book "Still Life"
Waterford, MI (PRWeb) March 16, 2007 -- Author John W. Wysner explores his many life experiences in his first book devoted completely to poetry "Still Life" (978-0-923568-79-4, Trade Paperback, 169 pp, 6 x 9, $14.95).
Writing professionally for nearly 40 years, Wysner spent most of that time as a business management consultant. He has lived an interesting life filled with wonderful opportunities ranging from college and pro football to owning his own consulting firm. Though he found great reward publishing five books on management and strategic planning, poetry has always been his greatest love.
In this compilation of autobiographical poems, he uses a variety of poetry formats, including free verse, rhyming verse, and Haiku, to explore his various life experiences. Wysner describes his experiences as a business owner, management consultant, college and professional football player, as well as his continued struggle as a bipolar patient.
At the heart of Still Life is the inspiration that in spite of an often crippling and immobilizing emotional disorder, a person can reach a high level of professional and personal success. "My hope is that readers also suffering with this illness will find insight and empathy that will help them to better cope with this problem," says Wysner.
Besides this collection, John W. Wysner has many published works in a number of poetry anthologies, and has received the Poet of Merit Award from 2003-2006.
"Still Life" is available at Amazon.com. For more information about Still Life, or to schedule an interview, contact John W. Wysner by phone at (248) 682-4708, or via email at jwysner @ sbcglobal.net.
