Author Debuts Compelling Love Story in New Poetry Collection
Longwood, FL (PRWEB) April 19, 2008 -- Nowhere in the Bible is there a more romantic story than that of the captive maiden who became a bride (the church) and the warrior (Jesus) who rescued her to become her bridegroom. David River recently debuted his compelling collection of songs and Scriptures, The Divine Romance - The Song of Jesus and His Bride (paperback), which illuminates the romance between Jesus and His bride through the prophets and biblical stories. Since the dawn of creation, God has been writing an everlasting love story--from Adam and Eve, to Jacob and Rachel, to Solomon and his bride, all the way up to the return of Jesus to sweep away His own bride to the wedding celebration in heaven. The Divine Romance is a modern-day allegory of Jesus singing over His bride and His bride singing to Him based upon the Song of Solomon.
Says River, "As they read this collection of songs and Scriptures, (readers) will discover anew the height, depth, length, and breadth of Jesus' extravagant love for them. And in rediscovering His love, they will be compelled to surrender their heart in total abandonment to Him."
In 2002, after discovering his best friend was having an affair with his wife that led to the downfall of his marriage, River was driven by this trial into the arms of Jesus. Throughout these trials, he discovered Jesus' love was so profound, unrelenting, and forgiving that He allowed the trials to happen so the author could experience His extravagant love firsthand and share it with others. "The love that Jesus and His bride (the church) have for each other is unquenchable," he says. "And until we see the Bible and Christianity in this light, we will never fully comprehend them."
David River holds a B.A. in theology and psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida. He currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee.
Xulon Press, a part of Salem Communications Corporation, is the world's largest Christian publisher, with more than 5,000 titles published to date. Retailers may order The Divine Romance through Ingram Book Company and/or Spring Arbor Book Distributors.

In Poetry: Meaning of Words [And ...Rocket-belt]
In Poetry: Meaning of WordsWhen I write poetry, I check out the meaning of words for too often they sound the same, but once written, and if spelled wrong, in consequence, give a complete different meaning of what I had intended; this I call a moment of damage control. If my rhyme is flat, and my cadence is off, so what, I can survive, as long as the meaning of my words are not; and are as I meant them to be.
